The 24th annual Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference will bring together world leaders on ecotourism, sustainability and responsible tourism from 21-23 November in Hobart, Tasmania. As the longest running ecotourism conference in the world, Global Eco attracts tourism operators, protected area managers, tourism organisations, Indigenous bodies, destination developers, marketers and researchers from across Australia and around the world to further develop the ecotourism industry.
Global Eco is a business-to-business and business-to-government event that promotes the exchange of practical ideas, innovation and best practice ecotourism, offering specialised masterclasses, workshops and tours and facilitating exceptional business networking for delegates.

Global Eco focuses on providing travellers with outstanding tourism experiences that respect the environment, local communities and the culture of destinations. As Ecotourism Australia celebrates its 25th year, the 2016 conference will reflect on the past 25 years of ecotourism and look to its future in the next 25 years.
This year’s theme of Fostering Innovation – Sustaining Excellence will focus on how innovation can help deliver sustainability in a world that has very unequal access to technology. It will also explore exciting trends, policy and case studies in tourism in protected areas, where many strategic partnerships are developing.
The Conference Secretariat is committed to creating an environmentally sustainable event by managing waste, water, energy, air pollution and transport, and will offset the entire greenhouse gas emissions footprint of the conference. It encourages delegates to offset their own footprints.
