February 2nd is World Wetlands Day, and what’s more, World Wetlands Day 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Ramsar Treaty to protect significant wetland sites!
FIVE SATELLITE NODE ECO DESTINATIONS TO HOST GLOBAL ECO ASIA-PACIFIC TOURIST CONFERENCE
A total of five applicant ECO Destinations across the country will play host to the live-streamed program of the Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference that will be held on the ground at the HEART, Margaret River from 1-3 December.
With the constraints on travel associated with COVID-19, the online event offers an excellent opportunity for local people to access the interstate conference who may not otherwise have the time or funds to attend.
The ‘Satellite Node’ host ECO Destinations are offering attendees who cannot attend the live conference an opportunity to hear about leading practices in eco and sustainable tourism, conservation, protected area management, planning and development, marketing, Indigenous and community engagement, architecture and design, philanthropy, sustainable destination management and climate action.

The five-day event 2-6 November, will include two sessions each day and bring together the best minds from within the travel industry along with external experts to foster its recovery.
