This week, people all around the country took part in Clean Up Australia Day activities. It’s a day that has become Australia’s biggest community-based environmental event, based on the vision of one “average Australian bloke”. Ian Kiernan began the event after being a solo yachtsman and being shocked and appalled by the increasing amount of rubbish discarded in our precious oceans. This motivated Ian to take a stand by organising Clean Up Sydney Harbour Day in 1989. The event received a massive response from the public that one year later the event became nationwide with over 288,000 tonnes rubbish collected over the past 27 years.
National Recycling Week 2017
The 13-19th of November 2017 is National Recycling Week! This is an annual event that gives individuals, councils and businesses the opportunity to learn more and become better recyclers. We have taken this opportunity to highlight the importance of recycling in the tourism industry.

Bike It N Hike It, one of our Ecotourism certified operators, has recently expand his business and added a new tour to his product offering. From now on visitors can not only experience Phillip Island, Melbourne or the Yarra Valley via bike, but they can also enjoy a 2 day biking tour along the Great Ocean Road. The tour features different Surf Coast Trails as well as hikes along Victoria's iconic coastline.
