Kosciuszko National Park: Australia’s first Ecotourism Certified Destination
One of NSW’s most popular tourism destinations, Kosciuszko National Park (KNP) has achieved Australia’s first Ecotourism Destination Certification, through Ecotourism Australia’s (EA) new Ecotourism Destination Certification program that recognises best practice in sustainable tourism in protected areas.
ECO Certified Tour Operators gain GSTC Approved Status
‘As of today all Ecotourism and Advanced Ecotourism Eco-certified operators can proudly display the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Approved logo’ announced Mr. Guy Chester, Technical Director GSTC, at Ecotourism Australia’s conference - GlobalEco. "Ecotourism Australia’s ECO Certification is one of only three tourism certification programs globally that has gained GSTC-Approved status whereby their operators can display this logo that clearly shows visitors these tourism experiences have been assessed by a credible scheme as being sustainable tourism."
