New to Ecotourism Australia's affiliate membership network this month is Superpod - the first of its kind in Australia, they are a recently established building design company introducing a new style of low energy, sustainable housing.

Superpod offer a range of housing and other building options that incorporate modernist design aesthetics with sustainable design principles and state-of-the-art materials and finishings. In compliance with the International Passive House Standard, run by the International Passive House Institute, which claims that you can save up to 90% on cooling and heating costs for a space of comparable size without using renewable energy.

The customisable structures are low maintenance, fast to build, and made from robust materials. They also allow optional additions, including; renewable energy technologies, like solar, and waste management systems. The Superpod has been designed to keep a regulated temperature, ensuring they will be warm in winter and cooler in summer with little or no need for heaters or air conditioning.

Founding Director, Fiona McKenzie, is seeking expressions of interest from Ecotourism operators across Australia to participate in an introductory offer. If any of our certified operators are looking into their options to expand their accommodation offering, be sure to get in touch with Fiona.
