‘Life on the green road’ is our unique travel story about inspirational eco places and people in Australia – sharing stories and stunning environmentally-focused images as we go.
Our Planet Travel’s aim is to inspire sustainable and responsible travel and lifestyle choices, and to encourage everyone to think more about where our ‘holiday dollars’ go.
Katie Bennett, a professional photographer from Brisbane, has a passion for the environment, sustainable living, and photography. She will share the photos of this life-learning travel experience with us; from her family’s personal perspective of our environment and the people they meet along the way. Katie’s unique and creative images capture the real ‘heart’ of the experience.

Why are we doing this…
We want more people to be aware that their holiday choices have a direct impact on the environment.
Our aim is to bring attention to the places and people who are passionate about their ‘green’ tourism experience, and show the public where and how their ‘tourism dollars’ can make a real difference here in Australia.
‘Life of the green road’ promotes responsible and sustainable tourism, ecotourism, Indigenous and volunteer tourism. We will be focusing on stories and images with an underlying theme of preservation of our environment for the enjoyment and wellbeing of future generations.
The tourism industry in Australia is worth $42.3 billion (GDP, 2013) - one of Australia’s largest industries; and provides jobs for over 543,000 people. Together we can make a difference if we make the right decisions – and encourage others to do the same thing. Let’s lead by example and travel smarter!
