The 2015 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards Gala Night took place last Friday, with some of Australia’s best tourism operators on display. Ecotourism Australia was thrilled to see 38 of our members represented, taking home 17 well-earned awards, and making up 22% of all award winners.

Across eligible categories, Ecotourism Australia’s members made up 35% of all finalists and took home 27% of the awards, Gold, Silver and Bronze.    

Ecotourism Australia’s CEO and Chairman, Rod Hillman and Rick Murray, attended the event as sponsors of the Ecotourism category, and to congratulate Ecotourism Australia’s members in attendance.

“This is a tremendous achievement by members of Ecotourism Australia with nearly 10% of our entire membership being finalist at the Awards. Being 35% of all finalists clearly demonstrates that ECO certified tour operators are the benchmark for excellence and quality” said Rod Hillman. 

Ecotourism Australia also congratulates the 2015 Australian Tourism Legend, Mr Geoff McGeary OAM, APT Group Owner, in recognition of his lifetime achievement and contribution.
