Congratulations to Paddlecraft for achieving Advanced Ecotourism and Climate Action Business Certification for their tours - Pittwater Discovery, SUN, SEA & SUP, From Bush to Beach, and Kayak & Camp.

Situated on Pittwater, Sydney, Paddlecraft offer guided kayaking, bushwalking and camping tours that vary from half day to full day and multi-day tour durations. Bordered on the western foreshore by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, paddling is an affordable and easy way to enjoy the natural beauty of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and experience varied ecosystems, Aboriginal artwork, and aquatic wildlife first-hand.

The family business was established in 2006 and is owned by Helen Morrow and Ross Crawshaw, who are both keen kayakers. As self-described “environmental guardians of Pittwater”, Paddlecraft’s philosophy is to raise awareness for environmental conservation by combining their visitors’ desire to participate in nature based experiences with conservation and environmental education. Therefore, tour guides educate all guests about kayaking and bush walking protocols prior to any activities and ensure that guests follow the ‘leave no trace’ principles. Full day tours also include lunchtime presentations from local conservationists, which provide an opportunity for education and partnering with like-minded organisations.

Paddlecraft is committed to upholding environmental sustainability in all facets of operation and protecting Pittwater and the national park is fundamental to their mission. They promote paddling as an activity that has minimal impact on natural environments by using zero power consumption, being small in scale and non-intrusive to delicate ecosystems. Paddlecraft also participate in carbon offsetting and environmental restoration, and support local conservation organisations.

We are very happy to welcome Paddlecraft to Ecotourism Australia. If you would like to find out more, please visit their website or Facebook page.
