Congratulation to All Seasons Houseboats for achieving Nature Tourism certification for their vessel Ruby Luxury.
All Seasons Houseboats (ASH) is one of Australia’s leading houseboat companies with a commitment to providing their customers with a unique, relaxing and enjoyable holiday experience. ASH is located at the dockside Marina, Mildura, an enviable tristate location that is easily accessible by road and by air.
ASH highlights the Murray River and its natural landscape. River maps, highlighting areas with good mooring areas and places to stop off at, are provided online and on board.
The company is actively contributing to the conservation objectives set by Parks Victoria and Maritime Services New South Wales by ensuring they are compliant with all environmental legislation and requirements. They have been able to do so by identifying and minimising all possible environmental risks associated with their operations, reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and monitoring all waste produced by their vessel.
To ensure they do not create any long term environmental impacts, All Seasons Houseboats actively educates their clientele travelling the Murray River on how they can reduce their impact by developing appreciation and understanding for the local area.
ASH has a new 12 berth luxury houseboat, Ruby Luxury, with 9 kw solar panels and grey water holding tanks. The solar panels provide energy to the batteries which then convert it to 240v power via an on-board inverter. Powered by 2 highly efficient 75hp mercury outboards. All lighting is 12V LED even the flood lights which are used for navigation or to allow lighting on the bank. The power for these lights is also battery charged using the solar panels. ASH has ensured that all lights in the marina are solar powered and have even planted over 150 natural grasses in the past year for landscaping in front of the houseboats. This was done to provide a more aesthetic environment and help maintain division between the edge of the marina and the footpath.
