Tasmania announced as the host for Ecotourism Australia’s 2016 GlobalEco Conference

‘And the winner is Tasmania!’ announced Rick Murray, Chairman of Ecotourism Australia, today declaring Ecotourism Australia’s 2016 GlobalEco conference will be held in Tasmania. ‘Tasmania is a centre for ecotourism in Australia with high quality tour operators delivering excellent experiences in a land blessed with natural and cultural wonders,’ said Mr. Murray.

2016 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tasmania’s first national parks, Mt Field and Freycinet, and the 25th Anniversary of Ecotourism Australia. Bringing these events together and showcasing the amazing experiences and landscapes available in Tasmania will be a focus of the conference.

‘Tasmanian tour operators won a record 11 Gold Awards at this year’s National Tourism Awards demonstrating the high quality standards and experiences Tasmania can deliver,’ said Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service General Manager Peter Mooney.. ‘The 2016 GlobalEco conference in Tasmania will showcase the ecotourism experiences, the effective partnerships and the people involved in what makes Tasmania a place where you can truly go behind the scenery’.
