CONGRATULATIONS TO SURF SESSIONS FOR ACHIEVING NATURE TOURISM CERTIFICATION
Congratulations to our newest certified operator, Surf Sessions, for achieving Ecotourism certification for their surfing lessons.
Surfing lessons are held at Ocean Grove and 13th Beach in Victoria. The surfing experts of Surf Sessions teach not just beginners who are aiming to stand their first wave but also advanced performers who want to improve their surfing skills. Along the 2km long 13th Beach in Victoria, a wide variety of waves can be found which makes it an ideal place for surfers with various skill levels. Due to powerful waves, classes are offered to intermediate and advanced surfers. The beach along Ocean Grove offers the perfect conditions for beginners since the waves there are relatively gentle.
All necessary surfing equipment, such as Rip Curl wetsuits and G-Board foam boards, is provided. During their lessons, participants learn about water safety, methods to assess conditions, paddling techniques, line up negotiation, wave catching, standing up and riding a wave. According to preference, group or private lessons can be booked. Groups consist of a maximum of 48 students.
Surf Sessions was founded in 2009 by Cameron Lamperd who has more than 30 years of experience in the surfing industry. Cameron and his team assist clients of all surfing levels to have a great surf experience.
Surf sessions is committed to the conservation of the local environment, fauna and flora. They raise local beach awareness in children, adults, school and community groups. In general, students don’t interact with marine animals or wildlife during their surfing lessons, but if there are animals such as dolphins and seals present, students are instructed to not interact and keep their distance.
We are proud to welcome Surf Sessions to Ecotourism Australia and once again congratulate them on their achievement.
