We are absolutely thrilled to welcome The Good Scout Travel Co. to the Ecotourism Australia family.

Founded in 2017 by wheelchair user Scott Crowley and his able-bodied wife, business and travel partner, Clair, The Good Scout Travel Co.’s mission is to be Australia’s best and most trusted online accessible travel directory, helping users plan their next adventure from end to end with confidence and ease.

Born out of a desire to normalise travelling with a disability and to further promote accessible travel options to the accessible travel community, the couple set up The Good Scout Co. to take the guesswork, worry and hesitation out of accessible travel planning by filling the gap in the market for accurate accessible travel information.

“Scott and Clair have an intimate understanding of the barriers and roadblocks to wheelchair travelling and they talk to many other individuals who face similar barriers. They know the same issues arise time and time again amongst the accessible travel community, but The Good Scout Travel Co. is on a mission to change that!” says the company’s website.

Whether you’re looking for accessible accommodation, attractions, food and drink venues, tours, transport providers or other services, The Good Scout Website is packed full of information to get you on your way. It’s even got destination pages that give you an overview on each state and territory of Australia, including all the main things you may need to consider before planning a trip there.

Listings are either categorised as ‘verified’ or ‘standard,’ meaning that their level of accessibility has either been approved by The Good Scout team and/or its ambassadors, or externally determined via the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse or other unconfirmed sources, respectively. This gives users the freedom to make their own decisions, and also an opportunity to contribute to The Good Scout’s listings through personal visits and experiences. The Good Scout also makes it easier for accessible operators to provide the right information, and encourages operators to get in touch to assist in the verification process.
