Ecotourism Australia wishes good luck to all our certified members who have entered their State’s annual tourism awards. We will be thinking of you and cheering you along as the awards all take place during November. Please ensure you ‘share’ your news and photos with us.

We are thrilled to see a large number of Ecotourism Australia certified operators entering the awards again this year. Last year saw approximately half of all awards in applicable categories going to our members - highlighting the deserved high standard and regard held for certified members within the tourism industry.

We are also proud to announce that Ecotourism Australia has the privilege of sponsoring the Ecotourism Category again at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in Darwin on 24 February 2017.

The Tourism Awards are hosted by the Tourism Industry Councils in each State, in partnership with supporting partners.

“These awards have been running for more than 30 years and recognise excellence across the tourism industry,” Australian Tourism Awards Chairman, Daniel Gschwind, said.

“Each year we celebrate the commitment and achievements of tourism and hospitality businesses from all states and territories. It is they who lead the industry in creating outstanding products and services for visitors, generating growth and jobs in an industry that is contribution so much to our economy.”

The awards draw together more than 800 tourism business representatives from across the country along with Federal and State Tourism Ministers, CEOs of State and Regional tourism bodies and tourism industry leaders.

“I’m impressed by the calibre of this year’s entrants as they showcase the innovation and quality in our tourism industry today. They reinforce the importance of having rich and varied products to lure domestic and international tourists,” he said.

Gold, Silver and Bronze winners from all the Tourism Awards categories will be announced during November as all the State’s host their awards. The Gold Award winners from each State will gain automatic entry into the 2016 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards – with the National winners to be announced in Darwin on 24 February 2017.
