Ecotourism Australia Annual General Meeting 2017
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Ecotourism Australia (EA) was held on 18th October 2017 at our Brisbane office and broadcast to members across the country via Redback Conferencing.
For the first time EA utilised online voting service, Election Buddy, to conduct the Board election, enabling more members than ever to exercise their right and submit their votes. There were five (5) available Director positions, and seven (7) nominated candidates. The successful candidates joining the EA Board of Directors for a two (2) year term are:
- Ms. Michele Bain
- Yondah Beach House | New Board Member
- Mr. Steve Wroe
- Parks Australia | New Board Member
- Dr. Claire Ellis (elected Deputy Chair)
- Claire Ellis Consulting | Returning Board Member
- Ms. Wendy Hills
- NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service | Returning Board Member
- Mr. Rick Murray (elected Chair)
- Middle Star Pty Ltd | Returning Board Member
Rick Murray congratulated the Board members on their election saying he looks forward to working closely with them in the near future. He also thanked the unsuccessful candidates, Melanie Grevis-James and Andrew Fairley, for their ongoing contribution to EA.
In the Board Meeting immediately following the AGM, Rick Murray was re-elected as Chair and Claire Ellis was re-elected as Deputy Chair.
“EA has been fortunate over the years to have a close, collaborative and engaged Board that has delivered results.” said Mr. Rick Murray "The addition of Michelle and Steve will further strengthen the Board and bring new perspectives”.
