Congratulations to Mount Nancar Wilderness Retreat who have been recognized for their efforts - achieving Nature Tourism certification.

Ideally suited for the 4WD adventurer and off-road camper, Mount Nancar Wilderness Retreat is a private property, located on a river-bend that offers wonderful views and access to the flowing freshwater of the Daly River, near Katherine in the Northern Territory.

The retreat has direct access to the Daly River conservation zone that contains several natural eco systems including wetland billabongs, rain and savanna forest, rocky escarpment and fresh water river environments all located within a short distance of each other. The mix of environments provides habitats for a wide range of fauna and flora in this wonderful destination.

The property and surrounding area has historical significance in the Northern Territory and there is evidence of earlier times and people to see and hear about.

Mount Nancar Wilderness Retreat is an environmentally aware tourist establishment with a focus on ecotourism, by offering low environmental impact activities, minimizing their use of vehicles, and using renewable energy to provide electrical power to the retreat.

There are riverside and bush camp sites available, for a maximum number of 24 guests.
