10 NSW ECOTOURISM LEADERS REWARDED AT STATE AWARDS
Ten Ecotourism Australia certified operators were recognised for their incredible products and dedication to exceptional customer service at NSW’s State Tourism Awards on Thursday, the 16th of November.
The event was held at Sydney’s international Convention Centre and hosted by the Tourism Industry Division of the NSW Business Chamber, together with the NSW Government.
Tourism awards recognised large and small operators, tourist attractions, festivals and events, marketing groups and accommodation providers.
“Success in the Tourism Awards does not depend on whether an operator is big or small. It depends on their vision, achieving their business goals and, as a result, the excellent way their tourism product or service is delivered as an experience to the customer,” said Dean Gorddard, Executive Manager, Tourism at the NSW Business Chamber.
Ecotourism Australia’s big winners this year were Sealy Lookout, Orana East State Forest (Bruxner Park), Moonshadow - TQC Cruises, Byron Bay Eco Cruises and Kayaks and Taronga Western Plains Zoo, which received Gold Awards in the Tourist Attractions, Major Tour and Transport Operators, Ecotourism and Unique Accommodation categories respectively. Notably, this was the fourth consecutive win in this category for Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
Silver awardees included Advanced Ecotourism / Climate Action Business certified Eldee Station (Hosted Accommodation category) and Advanced Ecotourism / Respecting Our Culture certified Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay (Ecotourism category) and winners in the Bronze category included Oakvale Farm & Fauna World, Blue Mountains National Park, Noonaweena and Byron Bay Cottages (NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service).
Congratulations from Ecotourism Australia to all NSW winners!
