EA: What has certification meant to your business over the past 20 years?
GCaT: In 2019 we celebrated our 25 year anniversary. Maintaining high standards of safety, service, interpretation and environmental management we are enthusiastic at ‘showcasing’ our region for 25 more! Gecko Canoeing and Trekking has always been 'somewhat different' to other tour companies up here by focusing on experiences which only a local can provide. The places we visit, the way we travel through the environment and the way we understand and present the natural and cultural features can only be done with the intimate knowledge and experience we have.

Gecko Canoeing and Trekking takes pride in our Ecotourism Accreditation as it reinforces our goals of building the respect, knowledge and appreciation of the environment through direct interaction and experience when joining us on one of our wilderness touring experiences.
Through these experiences we provide our guests with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves completely in a natural world which they leave ‘feeling a part of’ and understanding that our role in preserving its integrity is an important obligation in our lives.
