If you have your own vessel but want to benefit from 30+ years of local knowledge then our naturalist guides service is for you. Whether you are here for a day or an extended charter our crew will select the best dive sites based on conditions and your specific interests (e.g turtles, coral gardens, sharks etc) .

Minke Whale Expedition

John Rumney pioneered the swim-with-whales industry in Far North Queensland. For twelve years, in partnership with international dwarf minke whale experts, they developed a code of practice for close in-water whale encounters. The code is now recognized as world's best tourism practice for safe-guarding and respecting the wellbeing of whales in the wild Backed by this expertise, Eye to Eye offers the only customised charters for in-water encounters with dwarf minke whales. Expeditions feature passionate and experienced guides who allow the whale's own curiosity to bring you within arm's length. Snorkel quietly as these gentle creatures play alongside, watching you watching them. These ultimate whale watching encounters are available each June and July.

From a leisurely island day-trip trip to extended diving/filming expeditions we have the knowledge and experience to deliver the best trip for your needs (note: your trip can include swimming with whales between June-July).

Reef Discovery Expedition

Over the years we've learnt that set itineraries and rigid departure times can be limiting. Instead Eye to Eye customises itineraries and experiences to suit you. We operate in the far northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea including Lizard Island. Your expedition can be tailored around encounters with a particular marine species or a variety of activities. Your itinerary might include reef snorkeling, remote river cruising, island hopping, diving, sustainable fishing, natural history talks and research observations. By working with a range of vessels, Eye to Eye offers varying levels of comfort or luxury, catering for VIPS, small groups or those on a budget. Maximum group size is 26 (with an extra guide per 12 people) to ensure that the interpretive element is of the very highest quality. Our goal is for every guest to connect with the wonder of the underwater realm.

Shark Research Expedition

Osprey and the remote far northern regions of the Great Barrier Reef are home to many species of shark and pelagics - welcome to the big blue. Join Eye to Eye on a customised encounter with hammerheads, tiger, grey reef, white tip, silver tip and silky sharks. Sprinkle the experience with manta rays, deep sea nautilus, and a myriad of luminous tropical fish, and you have an unforgettable journey to adventure.
