With day and extended tours on offer our Ecological Guides also share the region's local pioneering stories, history and provide information about our local industries, people, cultures and wildlife along with showcasing one of the world class coal seam gas operations in the area.
BOOBOOK encourages citizen science through our eco-science expeditions in biologically rich and ecologically sensitive areas never scientifically explored before. Working alongside Australian expert ecologists our guests actively participate in environmental surveys and contribute to Australian flora and fauna research, including threatened species. This research helps advance scientific knowledge with on ground management outcomes. We are the only ecotourism company operating in the region. We reduce our carbon footprint through projects such as the installation of solar panels on our office buildings and avoiding wastage by reusing crockery. We are a major supporter of the local non-for-profit Maranoa Wildlife Caring & Education Group who rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned wildlife for release back into their natural habitat. We also volunteer at community events such as the Bush Gardens Easter in the Country walk to showcase local vegetation communities and wildlife.
